Mamela Luthuli is a Trailblazer, Founder, and CEO of TakeNote IT, a company that provides cyber security and innovative IT solutions to its clients.

 

Her purpose “I am dedicated to protecting and keeping businesses and our people safe in South Africa and the rest of the world. I believe that technology and 4IR are only at the tip of a disruptive revolution that will create a new way of life for us all.”

 

As a career entrepreneur who started her first informal venture at the age of 14, Luthuli heads up Take Note IT, which was launched in April 2007. It is one of the few black, female-led, cyber security and internet of things (IOT) firms in SA. Saving her clients Billions in potential asset loss and vandalism.

 

She has made an immense contribution to SA’s cyber security and IOT industries, in numerous ways, including establishing the Cyber Excellence Academy, in collaboration with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), where she helps to produce a new generation of young, highly-skilled cyber security employees.

 

Her eperience in IoT she saw a gap in the market and became the first Black

Women owned OEM in the R&D space that has created an integrated early warning artificial intelligence driven platform and a V3 RFID sensor with gps coordinates using sigfox and Vodacom IoT network.Take Note has also innovated forensic intelligence online platform supported by app.Also innovated various App applications to streamline efficiencies of the technicians and engineers on the ground.The early warning technologies compliments the physical security and armed response.

 

Her passion is to mentor young people creating opportunities for them. In her quest to build the future leaders of tomorrow and contribute to the social issues of Unemployment and Job Creation in South Africa, she is championing Take Note’s Cybersecurity center of excellence by training young people straight from schools, colleges, and universities and equipping them with the skills required for work opportunities within Take Note IT and its associated companies internationally. This is critical given the estimated 400 million vacancies in cybersecurity worldwide.

 

Through her work she wants to change the narrative for all women, for women that are marginalized and disadvantaged and change the narrative for the young leaders of tomorrow. Mamela is rooted in the Spiritual yoga practices that is the foundation of her leadership style characterized by inclusiveness and compassion for people.

 

Mamela has won several awards: Top 25 Women in Management winner 2024, IITPSA IT Personality of the year Award Winner 2023, Top Empowerment Entrepreneur of the year of the award 2023, Coporate live wire Global Awards 2022/2023 Cybersecurity Service of the year-South Africa Winner, Top Empowerment Winner 2022, AfricaTech Week: Security Technology Company Award Winner 2021, Woman Of Stature: Women in IT: Technology category Award winner 2022, Women In Tech Start Up Company of the year Winner 2022, Africa tech Week Security Company of the year Winner 2023, Female Founders Initiative Middle East and Africa 50 under 50 Women Award Winner, Award Winner of MMH ESD Program Outstanding Effort Applied 2021.

 

Mamela has a MBA from Henley International Business School, Harvard VPAL Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information (Harvard University), Management Development Programme Diploma (UNISA), Degree in Public Administration from the Cape Town University of Technology (Pentech), Board Leadership Course (Gibs business school), Strategy programme (Gibs University),

 

Mamela is also a board member of the Female Founders Initiative Global, Advisory Board Member for Women in Tech, Board Member Deputy Chairperson of the Gauteng Management Agency,Tapsosa NEC Board member, Advisory board member of Defense and security CSIR.
