Skills and Experience

 

Chris contributes significantly to Take Note IT’s governance, legislative, business management, and strategic growth. He has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and is completing his Masters in Leadership. Chris has more than 30 years of experience and a proven track record in leading large multidisciplinary IT teams across complex corporate environments.

 

During this time he has gained extensive experience managing various operating structures, and large IT teams, working across ICT Strategy, ICT Governance, ICT Operations, project delivery and Value tracking, and Enterprise Architecture, making him an IT guru and leader of change. He started his career at Siemens where he gained a commercial apprenticeship (Kaufmannisher Lehrling), and expertise in commercial practices – costing, budgeting, management reporting, financial modelling, and basic software programming.

 

Chris then moved to SARCC as a Senior Administrator in the Capital Investment and Tender Administration office, To Metrorail in IT and capital allocations, and then to PRASA taking on roles of Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) and Chief IT Officer (CIO).

During this time he reported to Board Committees such as Finance Procurement Capital & Investment, Audit & Risk, and Governance Committees and was a member of Group Exco. Chris’s greatest contribution was leading a multi-billion Rand rail modernization investment drive by the government through PRASA involving leading advisories, bid teams, and negotiations teams for financial close. This was one of the longest and the most involved public procurement transactions of any CPO.
