OUR Journey

From its origins in 2007 to today, Take Note Group of Companies has evolved into a leading force in digital and physical security, IoT innovation, and industry-focused training.

Founded by Mamela Luthuli, a respected entrepreneur and technology leader, the Group was born from a vision of a secure, empowered, and digitally resilient ecosystem. That vision has grown into three independent yet complementary companies, each driving excellence in its field:

Take Note Group of Companies today is composed of three dynamic and innovative entities: Take Note Cybersecurity, Take Note IoT Solutions, and the Take Note Academy of Excellence. Together, these companies work in synergy to protect critical infrastructure, drive technological innovation, and prepare the next generation of digital leaders. A strong Business Development and Corporate Services arm supports all three businesses, ensuring efficiency and execution of our vision.

Through the Academy of Excellence, we are not only upskilling South African youth but also opening global pathways. Our landmark agreements with BRICS partners in China and Russia have created exchange programs for our students to learn critical digital and cybersecurity skills abroad, bringing that knowledge home to strengthen Africa’s technological capacity. With our current growth trajectory, we aim to train and prepare hundreds of students annually, building a pipeline of skilled professionals for both domestic and international opportunities.
